GAME Annual Conference Hidden in Plain Sight: Ocean Discoveries Along Georgia's Coast (06 Nov 2026)

Join us November 6-8 as we journey into the depths of the unseen, exploring the hidden treasures of Georgia's Coast, from the geology of the Blake Plateau to the hidden world of coral reefs. We are proud to present Dr. Gorka Sancho as our keynote speaker, an expert fish behavior and conservation scientist and lecturer at the University of Charleston. Dr. Danny Gleason, Emeritus Director of the School of Earth, Environment and Sustainability and Emeritus Professor of Biology at Georgia Southern University, will provide a Saturday morning address. Following Dr. Gleason, co-principal investigator for the Accessible Oceans Project and Georgia Tech professor Dr. Jessica Roberts and honorary co-PI Leslie Smith will present on their work sonifying scientific data!

We are excited to announce that we have several exhibitors lined up for our conference as well as a brand new component for our Friday evening session: student poster sessions! Friday evening will be a showcase for the future marine science generation and awards will be given out to the top presentations.

We invite all students, whether graduate or undergraduate, to consider applying to be a presenter. Stay tuned for student presenter applications! Spaces are limited.

Are you inspired to share an idea or activity that relates to our theme? Concurrent session proposals are accepted through October 2! Priority will be given to sessions that include: strong content/data correlations to the conference theme, reusable activities and resources, and tangible takeaways We have a location directly on the beach so if you have an amazing outdoor demonstration or activity we would love to experience it! Want to nominate an outstanding marine educator for our educator of the year award? Know a marine educator who has gone above and beyond in their field? Must be a conference attendee and a GAME member to receive an award. Nominate them here for the Educator of the Year Award or the Millie Graham Award (lifetime achievement).

Each year, GAME presents the opportunity to awards members and educators one of three $100 mini grants for educational purposes both in and out of the classroom. Must be a conference attendee and a GAME member to receive a mini grant. Apply for a mini grant here.
